Ebola Virus Information
Ebola hemorrhagic fever -- often referred to simply as Ebola -- is caused by an infection with the Ebola virus. Person-to-person transmission of the virus occurs through direct contact with people who have it, or direct contact with their body fluids.
Outbreaks tend to appear sporadically. Confirmed cases of infections with Ebola virus have been reported in places like:
- The Republic of the Congo
- The Democratic Republic of the Congo
